XB-1 is the test jet used in the design and development program of the future Overture, Boom Supersonic’s supersonic aircraft. The XB-1 leverages the most advanced technologies to enable efficient supersonic flight, including digitally optimized aerodynamics, carbon fiber composite materials, advanced supersonic engine intakes, and an augmented reality vision system for visibility during takeoff and landing.

The tri-jet recently completed its eighth successful flight. The XB-1, nicknamed “babyboom,” is a scale model of the Boom Overture, the future aircraft intended to revive civil supersonic flights after the last Concorde was withdrawn from service.
